As a group, the image of the band has changed a lot, going through genres and stereotypes, from emo to stempunk, to hipster and mainstream. The image of the band wasn't overly focused on in the initial years of the band. After the three year hiatus in 2009, the image of the band was focused on a lot more. Throughout the entire history of the band, image was key in music videos and in the media; magazines such as Kerrang! idolized them for teenage girls in their initial years.
